Special edition limited to 1,000 pieces. Historical tribute to the rare Panerai prototypes of the 1930s

Manually wound mechanical movement, P.3000 caliber with two barrels for a power reserve of 3 days (72 hours), 21 jewels and 21600 vibrations/hour. Functions: Hours, minutes. 

Pillow case typical of the 1930s, with a diameter of 47 mm. (oversized historical diameter), made of steel with a polished finish.  Patented removable wire lugs (The wire lugs are a feature of the Radiomir Panerai. A patented system allows the strap to be replaced easily: simply unscrew the screws located at the corners of the case and remove the lugs from the old strap and then reinsert them into the new one).

Twelve-sided bezel which differs from the classic Panerai bezels. It takes up the geometric shape of the case back and faithfully reproduces the prototypes that Panerai created in 1936 for the raiders of the Royal Italian Navy. The writing engraved in large letters "OFFICINE PANERAI - PATENTED" served as a reminder that the substance used to make the dial luminous (Radiomir, in fact) was a secret patent registered by Panerai.

'Sandwich' dial in 'tropical' color with a gradient from light brown in the center to a darker shade towards the edges. This aging effect known as tropical toning pays homage to the radioactive paint that was used to shed light (Radiomir) and which literally burned the black color of the dial, turning it brown. 

Conical and domed onion screw crown. This shape allowed divers to use heavy rubber gloves. 

Curved and protruding plexi glass. 

Steel case back with screw closure and large sapphire crystal porthole with visible movement. 

Original tobacco-coloured 'Ponte Vecchio' leather strap with trapezoidal polished steel buckle signed Panerai.
