Unfortunately for many old watches spares are no longer available. Therefore a replacement must be made.

Setting lever spring Longines 13zn.

The old lever is traced onto plate steel of the correct thickness.

The steady pins and screw holes are marked off. At the same time a second plate is placed underneath in order to cut out a pair.

With a piercing saw the pieces are hand cut.

Once cut the pieces are hardened and temper to the correct degree.

The steady pins are formed from round stock.

And as usual the piece is finished to an original appearance.
